Training's Done...

Hi ho, the day is done.
As the past two days were spent immersed in FMC's Smartbiz software with a tech. from North Carolina, my brain is decidedly mush! :D LOL...
Thankfully, God has placed me within range of family, and I have been blessed to be able to reside temporarily with my Aunt Brenda since Wednesday, and at my beloved grandmother Nana's house in Woodstock tonight. Tomorrow, I get to pick up some of cousin Jill's kids (currently with their aunt Lynn in Marietta) and take them home with me. Hurraaayyy!!!! (They are positively adorable!) There is a chance we'll stop off at Christina's place in ATL on the way back south, as she has a trunk I'm supposed to take off her hands. :D

Thought for today:

Ezek 14:7-11
"'When any Israelite or any alien living in Israel separates himself from me and sets up idols in his heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face and then goes to a prophet to inquire of me, I the LORD will answer him myself. I will set my face against that man and make him an example and a byword. I will cut him off from my people. Then you will know that I am the LORD. "'And if the prophet is enticed to utter a prophecy, I the LORD have enticed that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel. They will bear their guilt-- the prophet will be as guilty as the one who consults him. Then the people of Israel will no longer stray from me, nor will they defile themselves anymore with all their sins. They will be my people, and I will be their God, declares the Sovereign LORD.'"(NIV)

"Illegal" immigration?

BNI meeting went well this morning. Tonight I'll be heading N. to Roswell -- training in Dunwoody tomorrow and Friday.

My latest Constitution Party newsletter is on the subject of immigration. The basic premise is that illegal aliens are taking jobs that SHOULD belong to US citizens, thereby intensifying the current job crisis. I must confess I disagree. While immigration IS most certainly wreaking havoc with our economics, especially in the southern states -- FL, TX, CA, and to a lesser extent, GA, the problem is NOT that we have foreigners seeking refuge in our land. The problem(s) is (are) that we provide them with free healthcare, their children consume massive amounts of resources through our Public education system, and many of them even receive governmental subsidies through various welfare programs. Additionally, businesses are not allowed to hire at true free market rates due to Minimum Wage laws, and so there just aren't enough positions to go around.

Remove the enormous, incomprehensively inhibitive amounts of red tape, paperwork, and regulatory expenses small business owners must plow through in order to hire ANYONE, including US Citizens, and you will immediately enable the creation of thousands of paying positions while intrinsically strengthening what is recognized by all good economists to be the greatest pillar of our economic structure: the Small Business Community.

The Bible, ultimately, should be our final authoritative source for the establishment and management of government and policy. It tells us that when we are a blessed nation, the alien will work our vineyards and fields. The unpleasant tasks necessary for the running of a country! Why, oh why, would we seek to prohibit or limit this? Meanwhile we tell our children to take out a loan and pay it off as soon as possible to achieve a good, "Credit Rating." We have become a nation that calls blessings, curses, and curses, blessings. God have mercy on us...

Supply run

As we prep for next weekend's festivities, an in-depth analysis has shown our larders to be insufficiently stocked, thereby necessitating a slew of major supply operations. The first of these decidedly essential ordeals occured today. Pictures of our truck upon its return this afternoon will follow -- just as soon as I get them downloaded from our camera. :D LOL... For now, it's bedtime for this tired 'poke, and off again to McDonough at Zero Dark Thirty hours. :D (BNI meeting -- it's Wednesday, again). Goodnight friend -- farewell and Godspeed!

In Christ,
Alan

Home, home on the range...

Well, the last 200' of fenceline are up. All that's left are a few spots along the old fence on the other side that need some minor repairs. Now is the time for R&R :D (yeah, right) , so I'm sitting in the office playing my violin along with Steve & Annie Chapman & Selah on RealPlayer and writing in my BLOG instead of studying SmartBiz. :D LOL...

Dad has gone to an auction in Gray, GA, in search of a few good sheep for the upcoming Passover celebration. (I stayed home to finish the fence)

Wastin' Daylight...

Yippee kayay, little dawgies, time to ride fence... LOL :)
Well, it's lunch time, and so far we've run abt. 150' of fence this morning. It would be more, but we ran out of supplies. :D Dad's gone to pick up some more, and I get to wield the chainsaw for the next hour or so, clearing a path through some overgrown brush. No complaints here :D quiet time can be a good thing (ok, so the chainsaw's not exactly quiet -- but earplugs DO bring solitude). It's always interesting to see what God has to say while I'm working -- especially if I am so blessed as to be immersed in a patch of His wilderness. Granted, the far side of our little 4 acres can scarcely be described as wilderness, but around here it is about as good as I ever get! LOL... :)

Henry County Business Expo

Alas! Another day, another expo. Rachey and I started setting up @ 1400 hrs, finished breaking camp @ 2045 hrs. Not too shabby for a day's work. :D
On the way home we dropped off 1 system for a client in Lovejoy, and stopped to chat with a gentleman who had a blown radiator hose.
